Private sector credit in Australia was up 0.5 percent on month in December, the Reserve Bank of Australia said on Friday – shy of forecasts for 0.6 percent but up from 0.4 percent in November.

On a yearly basis, private sector credit gained 6.6 percent – unchanged but missing expectations for 6.7 percent.

Housing credit was up 0.5 percent on month and 7.5 percent on year, while personal credit was flat both on month and on year and business credit gained 0.5 percent on month and 6.3 percent on year.

The M3 money stock was flat on month and up 6.0 percent on year, while broad money was flat on month and advanced 6.1 percent on year.
