The Canadian dollar weakened against the other major currencies in the early European session on Wednesday.
The Canadian dollar fell to a 3-1/2-month low of 0.9679 against the Australian dollar, from an early high of 0.9649.
The loonie dropped to 1.4209 against the euro, from an early high of 1.4153.
Against the U.S. dollar and the yen, the loonie edged down to 1.3309 and 91.88 from an early 5-day high of 1.3279 and a 2-day high of 92.16, respectively.
If the loonie extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 0.97 against the aussie, 1.44 against the euro, 1.34 against the greenback and 90.00 against the yen.
