A series of announcements made by Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) suggest that the company is in for a major organizational reshuffle. The company announced its second quarter earnings and the retirement of its CEO Mark Templeton.

Templeton had joined the company in 1995 as the Vice President of Marketing. He rose to the position of President in 1998 and to that of the CEO in 2001.

Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) has entered into a “cooperation agreement” with Elliott Management Corp, which holds 7.5 percent stake in the company and is one of its largest investors. The agreement between the two companies regarding effective management recruiting strategy states the appointment of Jesse Cohn to the Citrix’s board. The search for an additional and independent board member is on.

Bringing about a change in their operational strategy, the board of directors of the company has formed an operations committee. This committee will be responsible for improving the capital structure and profit margins of the company. The committee members would include Cohn, Robert Calderoni and Thomas Bogan, director and chairman at Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), respectively. The committee members are confident that the new and fresh perspective introduced to the company would work in their favor.

Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) also announced the financial results for the second quarter that included revenue of $797 up from $782, a 2 percent increase for the same period in 2014. The net income of the company also rose to $103 million from $53 million in the same period, a year ago. Templeton stated that the results of the second quarter were encouraging and they were because of the restructuring actions taken by the company at the start of the current year. He is ready to serve as the President and CEO of the company till a successor is appointed. Templeton is confident that the new board members would surely find an able and experienced candidate who would drive the company into the future.
