Profits earned by Chinese industrial enterprises decreased for the fifth consecutive month in October, figures from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.
Industrial profits fell notably by 4.6 percent year-over-year in October, much faster than the 0.1 percent slight decrease in September.
During the first tent months of the year, total industrial profits dipped 2.0 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.
Among sectors, profits earned by mining industry tumbled 56.3 percent yearly in the January to October period, while manufacturing sector registered a gain of 3.8 percent.
