Croatia’s industrial production rose for the fifth straight month in June although at a slower pace from the previous month, figures from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed Wednesday.

Industrial production increased a working-day-adjusted 1.6 percent year-over-year in June, much slower than May’s 4.4 percent jump.

Production growth in the manufacturing sector slowed to 3.1 percent from 6.1 percent in May and that in the mining and quarrying sector eased to 5.9 percent from 8.1 percent. However, utilities sector output dropped 19 percent, faster than a 10.1 percent decrease in May.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell a seasonally adjusted 3.0 percent in June, in contrast to a 2.6 percent increase in the preceding month. It was the third decrease in six months.

During the first half of the year, total industrial production expanded 1.4 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.
