Details from the December 2016 US personal income spending and PCE data report 30 January 2017
– Spending 0.5% vs 0.5% exp m/m. Prior 0.2%
– Real spending 0.3% vs 0.1% prior m/m. Revised to 0.2%
A soft looking report on the face of it, or rather a non hawkish report for the Fed. PCE was higher but missed expectations, Core PCE didn’t rise vs last month because Nov was revised higher.
