S&P/Case-Shiller is scheduled to release its house price index for October at 9:00 am ET Tuesday. The 20-city composite house price index is expected to increase 0.6 percent month-over-month on a seasonally adjusted basis, the same pace of increase as in the previous month. Annually, house prices may have risen 5.5 percent.

Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major rivals.
While the greenback held steady against the yen, it climbed against the rest of major currencies.

The greenback was worth 1.0918 against the euro, 1.4794 against the pound, 120.44 against the yen and 0.9938 against the franc as of 8:55 am ET.
