The Commerce Department will release its final estimate of second quarter U.S. GDP at 8:30 am ET Friday. Economists expect GDP growth to be left unrevised at 3.7 percent.

Ahead of the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against its major rivals.
While the greenback advanced against the yen, it held steady against the rest of major rivals.

The greenback was worth 1.1147 against the euro, 1.5177 against the pound, 120.95 against the yen and 0.9797 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
