At 10 am ET Tuesday, the Conference Board is scheduled to release its consumer confidence index for June. The consensus estimate calls for an increase in the index to 93.3 from 92.6 in the previous month.

Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against the other major currencies. While the greenback declined against the pound, it rose against the yen and the euro. Against the franc, it held steady.

The greenback was worth 1.1061 against the euro, 1.3386 against the pound, 0.9791 against the franc and 102.48 against the yen as of 9:55 am ET.
