Donald Trump was the overwhelming winner of Thursday’s GOP presidential debate in Houston, according to HeffX-LTN readers and TV News.

The New York real estate magnate came in 63 points ahead of 2nd place finisher Marco Rubio when the votes were tallied around 2:00p EST Friday.

Here are the results, as follows:

  1. Donald Trump: 74%
  2. Marco Rubio: 11%
  3. Ted Cruz: 10%
  4. John Kasich: 2%
  5. Ben Carson: 1%

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie endorsed Donald Trump Friday calling him the only man in the race qualified to be US President.

“The best choice is Donald Trump. There was no choice in my mind,” said Gov. Christie, standing beside Trump at an event in Fort Worth, TX.

“When I was running for President, I wanted to beat him and he wanted to beat me,” Gov. Christie said. “But that part of the conversation is over. The question is, who is the best person to stop Hillary Clinton getting back into the White House? This is the best person.”

Donald Trump said, “To me, it’s a very big endorsement. Generally speaking I am not big on endorsements. This was one endorsement that really meant a lot. Chris is an outstanding man, with an outstanding family. He’s done a great job, and I think this is the one endorsement that I felt very strongly about that I wanted to get.”

Gov. Christie showed his value to the Trump campaign, and his likely role: Attack Dog.

He tore into the young Senator from Florida Marco Rubio repeatedly at the announcement

“It’s one act after the other,” Gov. Christie said of Sen. Rubio. “We do not need any more of these Washington, DC acts. The problem is Washington, DC, and we do not need Washington politicians to come in and fix it .”

“Desperate people in campaigns do desperate things. The fact of the matter is, no one is gonna get inside this guy’s head,” Gov. Christie said of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump added, saying Marco Rubio is so nervous and shaky that he is not fit to be President, he sweats too much.
