Finland’s business confidence improved marginally in March, survey figures from the Confederation of Finnish Industries or EK showed Friday.

The manufacturing confidence index rose to -7 in March from -8 in February. The reading is currently well below its long term average score of +1.0, the survey report said.

Confidence indicator in the construction sector improved slightly in March, with the corresponding index rising to -21 from -24 in the previous month.

At the same time, the service sector confidence indicator was almost unchanged in March. It marked +2, up from +1 in February.

The retail trade confidence indicator improved to -19 in March from -22 in the prior month. Sales volumes are expected to decrease further.
