Finland’s retail sales decreased in October from a year ago, preliminary figures from Statistics Finland showed Thursday.

Retail sales value dropped 2.3 percent year-over-year in October. The price-adjusted volume of retail sales went down by 0.8 percent.

In daily consumer goods trade, sales also contracted by 2.5 percent and the sales volume by 1.6 percent in October from the corresponding period of the previous year, the agency said.

The statistical office will publish final sales data on December 15.
