Hungary’s unemployment rate remained stable in the three-month period to March, figures from Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday.
The jobless rate came in at 7.8 percent in the three months ended March, the same rate as in the December to February period. Economists had expected the unemployment rate to fall to 7.7 percent.
The number of unemployed people increased to 347,100 in the January to March period from 344,800 in the previous three-month period.
At the same time, the employment rate fell slightly to 62.4 percent in the March quarter from 62.5 percent in the December to February period.
