Iceland’s consumer price inflation eased in June after accelerating in the previous two months, figures from Statistics Iceland showed Tuesday.
The consumer price index rose 1.6 percent year-over-year in June, slower than May’s 1.7 percent climb. Excluding housing costs, consumer prices remained flat from a year ago.
Prices of domestic goods and vegetables grew 3.0 percent annually in June and those of agricultural products went up by 2.5 percent. At the same time, prices of imported goods registered a decline of 2.7 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2 percent in June, following a 0.4 percent rise in the preceding month.
