Japan will on Wednesday release June figures for retail sales, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Retail sales are expected to fall 0.9 percent on month and gain 1.0 percent on year after rising 1.7 percent on month and 3.0 percent on year in May. Sales from large retailers are tipped to advance an annual 1.4 percent after jumping 5.3 percent in the previous month.

Japan also will see July figures for its small business confidence index; in June, the index score was 46.9.

Singapore will provide June numbers for producer prices; in May, PPI was down 0.7 percent on month and 8.3 percent on year.
