Since Taylor Swift stood up against Apple Music about paying artists during the tech company’s three month trail, support from fellow musicians keep pouring in.

At a New York luncheon Today, John Mellencamp addressed 600 music executives at the Pierre Hotel and applauded Swift’s efforts.

“Look at this little Taylor Swift taking a stand,” Mellencamp said. “Where were musicians in Jersey? In Minnesota? We didn’t want to have to fight, but we have to be ready to have that fight. Taylor Swift was courageous, man. But where was I, for that matter? I tip my hat to her, and everyone else should too.”

Following Swift’s open letter to Apple, the company changed their tune and now is paying artists the royalties they deserve. Soon after the announcement Swift told her fans that Apple will stream her latest album ‘1989’, which will be the first music service to stream her blockbuster album.
