Latvia’s retail sales decreased for the first time in nearly four-and-a-half years in November, figures from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Wednesday.
Retail sales dropped a calendar-adjusted 0.7 percent year-over-year in November, reversing a 5.7 percent climb in the previous month. It was the first decline since June 2011.
Sales of non-food products fell 2.8 percent in November from a year ago, while that for food products grew by 2.6 percent. Retail sales of automotive fuel alone plunged by 11.6 percent.
On a monthly basis, retail sales dipped 3.2 percent in November, in contrast to a 1.4 percent spike in October
