Malaysia’s producer prices dropped sharply in March, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Thursday.
The domestic producer price index fell 6.1 percent year-over-year in March and decreased 0.5 percent from the previous month.
Producer prices for local production also plunged in March, it declined 7.8 percent from the prior year.
Prices in the mining sector tumbled 36.5 percent annually in March and manufacturing prices slipped by 7.0 percent.
Import prices dipped 0.4 percent in March from a year ago, while edged up 0.1 percent from the preceding month.
