Norway’s unemployment rate held steady in October as expected, after falling in the previous month, the Labour and Welfare Administration, or NAV said Friday.
The registered unemployment rate came in at 2.9 percent in October, the same rate as in September. The figure was also matched with consensus estimate.
In the corresponding month last year, the jobless rate was 2.7 percent.
The number of unemployed people increased to 79,974 in October from 79,623 in the preceding month. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 72,144.
