Norway’s retail sales increased at a faster-than-expected pace in October, after falling in the previous two months, figures from Statistics Norway showed Friday.

Retail sales volume, excluding motor vehicles rose a seasonally adjusted 0.9 percent month-over-month in October, exceeding economists’ expectations for a 0.7 percent gain. In September, sales had fallen 0.8 percent.

On an annual basis, retail sales volume climbed a working-day-adjusted 0.5 percent in October, reversing a 0.3 percent drop in the preceding month.

In the three months ended October, retail sales volume advanced 0.3 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.
