S&P 500 down 9 points
The US stock market rose early but has been in retreat and now threatens an outside day.
The close on Friday was the highest since April 20 but a three-day weekend and late, hawkish comments from Yellen last week are weighing on sentiment. Rebalancing may be hurting as well. The S&P 500 was up 1.15% in the month while short-dated bonds fell and long-dated bonds were flat.
