Poland’s unemployment rate decreased for the eighth consecutive month in October, in line with expectations, figures from the Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday.

The registered unemployment rate fell slightly to 9.6 percent in October from 9.7 percent in the previous month. The figure was also matched with consensus estimate.

In the corresponding month last year, the jobless rate was 11.3 percent.

The number of registered unemployed persons decreased to 1.51 million in October from 1.53 billion in September. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 1.78 million.
