At 5:30 am ET Tuesday, U.K.’s Office for National Statistics will release its preliminary third-quarter GDP data. On year, GDP is expected to expand 2.4 percent in the third quarter, matching the second quarter estimate .Quarter-on-quarter growth is seen slowing to 0.6 percent, from previous figure of 0.7 percent.

Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against its major rivals. While the pound fell against the U.S. dollar and the yen, it rose against the euro and the Swiss franc.

As of 4:25 am ET, the pound was trading at 0.7196 against the euro, 1.5091 against the Swiss franc, 1.5342 against the U.S. dollar and 184.83 against the yen.
