Slovenia’s economic sentiment index dropped for the second straight month in July, final figures from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Monday.

The seasonally adjusted economic sentiment index, which combines both business tendencies and consumer surveys, fell by 1.6 percentage points to 3.5 in July from 5.1 in June. It was the lowest reading since January, when it marked 2.9.

The sentiment indicator at the monthly level was lower mostly due to the decrease in the consumer confidence. The corresponding index decreased to -14 in July from -7 in the previous month.

The index measuring construction confidence dropped slightly to -16 in July from -14 in the preceding month.

At the same time, the manufacturing confidence indicator, the services confidence indicator and the retail trade confidence had no impact on the headline index, the statistical office said.
