Spain’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in the fourth quarter, the statistical office INE said Thursday.

The jobless rate fell to 20.9 percent from 21.2 percent in the third quarter. The number of unemployed decreased by 71,300 to 4.78 million.

The number of employed persons increased 45,500 in the fourth quarter. In agriculture, job creation advanced 70,200 and by 54,900 in services.

Meanwhile, employment decreased 55,500 in industry and by 24,100 in construction.
