FXStreet (Mumbai) – The latest data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission showed speculators turned bullish on the 10-year treasury note for the first time since September of 2014 last week.

The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes, primarily traded by large speculators and hedge funds, witnessed a weekly change of +32,999 net contracts to total a net position of +27,400 contracts in the data reported for July 21st. Long positions in 10-year futures rose by +32,025 contracts and short positions declined by -974 contracts.

The commercial positions, hedgers or traders engaged in buying and selling for business purposes, trimmed their overall bullish positions to a total net position of +129,440 contracts.

The yield on the 10-year treasury note in the US currently trades 2.1 basis points lower at 2.52%.
