Taiwan’s industrial production fell less-than-expected in November, though the declining trend extended to a seventh month running, figures from the Ministry of Economic Affairs revealed Wednesday.

Industrial production decreased 4.94 percent year-on-year after a 6.33 percent drop in October, revised from 6.15 percent.

Economists had expected a 5.55 percent fall. Output has been declining since May this year.

The pace of decline in manufacturing output eased to 5.03 percent from 6.53 percent. Mining and quarrying output fell 1.44 percent after a 11.85 percent slump in the previous month.

Month-on-month, industrial production grew 0.09 percent following a 0.47 percent rise in the previous month. Output rose for a third straight month.
