The documentary film narrated by William Shatner about a young man and his elephant sharing a life of struggle and adventure on the gritty streets of Bangkok is scheduled to be shown at this year’s Palm Beach International Film Festival (www.pbifilmfest.org).

“Our publicity will highlight a poignant episode in this remarkable story when an opportunity arises for the young man to release the elephant finally into the wild, a moment that will remain forever in your heart,” said TransMedia President Adrienne Mazzone, herself a fervent animal lover who promotes goats and chimpanzees.

Patricia Sims is the Co-Founder of World Elephant Day. Canazwest Pictures co-filmmakers Patricia Sims and Michael Clark have created numerous award-winning films together, including Return to the Forest, which was released worldwide on the first World Elephant Day, August 12, 2012. Now, Sims and Clark are releasing their new feature-length film, When Elephants Were Young the culmination of a five-year journey to the screen.

“We will show in our publicity how Canadian filmmaker Sims and cinematographer Clark developed a deep understanding of Elephants, and a passion to illumine their existence threats,” said Mazzone.

The festival will screen When Elephants Were Young April 8 at Cinemark Palace 3200 Airport Rd, Boca Raton and April 13 at Muvico Parisian – Auditorium on Hibiscus Street in West Palm Beach.

TransMedia said it’s eager to bring attention to the plight of “our long-lashed, large eared, beautifully tusked, trunkish friends who’ll be bellowing and squeaking not far from where elephantine candidate Trump lives.”

TransMedia said part of his publicity plan will involve enlisting such animal advocates to support the film, as Scott Joseph of ChimpFood who works hard to free Chimps from captivity.

“We intend to fill theatre seats happily as elephants fill a water pool,” said Alexandra Flugel, TransMedia VP of Social Media & PR.

TransMedia will also assist the filmmaker’s participation in World Elephant Day August 12 dedicated to ensuring the survival of these magnificent animals.

“We’ll encourage the public to raise their trunks and post, share, Tweet about the film,” said Flugel.
