20th Century Fox World Theme Park Coming To Dubai

Dubai-based  Al Ahli Holding Group has signed an international licensing partnership to build a Fox-branded theme park with a resort hotel in Dubai.

This will be the 2nd 20th Century Fox World theme park in the world, a statement said.

The park will feature attractions and rides based on Fox’s film and television franchises such as Ice Age, Rio, Planet of the Apes, Aliens, Predator, Night at the Museum, Titanic, The Simpsons and Sons of Anarchy.

A themed retail street will also feature shopping and dining facilities.

20th Century Fox World Dubai is slated to open in Y 2018, with design and production services provided by US based Rethink Leisure & Entertainment.

“Fox World will be a world-class destination that will help fuel Dubai’s emergence as a global tourism destination,” said president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products Jeffrey Godsick.

“This park builds on the foundation being laid by 20th Century Fox World, Malaysia, currently under construction.”

Under the licensing partnership, Al Ahli will also build the world’s first Fox-branded resort which will feature themed rooms and dining areas.

The deal also allows for up to three additional Fox-branded resorts in territories outside Dubai.

Chief executive of Al Ahli Holding Group Mohammed Khammas said: “Fox’s history of great entertainment-based intellectual properties from movies, television shows and animation concepts will help us spearhead this project.

“As part of our international deal with Fox, we look forward to building these attractions and resorts globally starting with Dubai as the first location and additional Fox branded resorts that we hope to open across other territories in the future.”

Dubai is set to welcome a host of new theme parks as it embarks on its target of attracting 20-M visitors per year by Y 2020.

Dubai Parks and Resorts, a Dhs 10-B mega development featuring 3 main theme parks: Hollywood-themed Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai, is slated to open next year. The mega project will also feature Riverpark,– a grand entrance plaza and Lapita, a family themed hotel.

The $1-B  IMG Worlds of Adventure, spread across 1.5-M sqf in its 1st stage, is set also open next year within the City of Arabia development in Dubai.

It will feature 4 zones including The Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure zone; Marvel and Cartoon Network zones; and IMG Boulevard.
