The Australian dollar weakened against the other major currencies in the late Asian session on Tuesday.

The Australian dollar fell to nearly a 3-week low of 1.5036 against the euro, from an early high of 1.4902.

The aussie dropped to 8-day lows of 0.7219 against the U.S. dollar and 88.87 against the yen, from early highs of 0.7270 and 89.66, respectively.

Against the New Zealand and the Canadian dollars, the aussie slipped to 4-day lows of 1.0874 and 0.9761 from early highs of 1.0949 and 0.9822, respectively.

If the aussie extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 1.53 against the euro, 0.71 against the greenback, 87.00 against the yen, 1.07 against the kiwi and 0.96 against the loonie.
