Latvia’s economic growth eased in the thee months ended September, after accelerating in the previous two quarters, preliminary figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Friday.

Gross domestic product climbed a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent year-over-year in the third quarter, but slower than the 1.2 percent expansion in the previous three-month period.

The latest rate of growth was the weakest since the fourth quarter last year, when the economy grew only 0.3 percent.

Annually, GDP advanced at a slower pace of 2.5 percent in the September quarter, following a 2.7 percent rise in the prior quarter.

Similarly, on an unadjusted basis, the annual growth in GDP eased to 2.5 percent in the third quarter fro m 2.7 percent in the second quarter.
