The purchasing managers’ index for the Norwegian manufacturing sector fell to 47.6 in November from 48.3 in the prior month. Economists had expected the index to drop to 47.8.

Any reading below 50 indicates contraction in the sector. The PMI remained below 50-neutral mark for the ninth straight month in November.

The sub-index of production declined to 50.1 in November from 51.2 in the preceding month.

The index measuring new orders fell to 49.0 in November from 50.1 in October.
