Poland’s unemployment rate unexpectedly held steady in November, halting an eight-month long easing trend, figures from the Central Statistical Office showed Wednesday.

The jobless rate was 9.6 percent, unchanged from October. Economists had expected it to climb back to 9.7 percent seen in September.

A year ago, the jobless rate was 11.4 percent.

The newly registered unemployed in November rose to 204,700 persons from 211,400 persons in the previous month.
