Moments ago, the NYPD announced that it seeking 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami of New Jersey in connection to the pressure-cooker bomb, assistant commissioner J. Peter Donald said. Rahami is a naturalized US citizen from Afghanistan. According to the DOJ he is 5’6″ tall, and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and brown facial hair.
According to CNN, the investigation into both the New York and New Jersey bombings is leading authorities to signs of a possible terror cell in those two states.
In the DOJ’s statement, the suspect is said to be “considered armed and dangerous.”
“Wanted: Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28 year old male, is being sought in connection with the Chelsea bombing,” NYPD Assistant Commissioner J. Peter Donald wrote on his Twitter account with a photograph of the suspect.

According to ABC, the address of a home being searched by FBI agents in Elizabeth, New Jersey is linked to a person with a similar name.

The announcement came after several suspicious devices were discovered in a backpack in Elizabeth, New Jersey this morning. One of the devices, left in a trash bin near the entrance to the train station, exploded as a police robot was attempting to disarm it.
