The British pound strengthened against most major currencies in the pre-European session on Thursday.
The pound rose to nearly a 3-week high of 187.47 against the yen and a 6-day high of 1.5069 against the Swiss franc, from early lows of 186.70 and 1.5025, respectively.
Against the euro, the pound edged up to 0.7279 from an early low of 0.7295.
If the pound extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 192.00 against the yen, 1.53 against the franc and 0.71 against the euro.
