Asian stocks traced the gains by Wall Street as eurozone finance ministers approved giving further bailout loans to Greece and extend debt relief and oil prices escalated.
Brent crude ended at $49.23 per barrel, up 1.3%, while West Texas Intermediate closed at $49.35 per barrel, up 1.5%.
Japan’s Topix gained 1.5% while the Nikkei 225 increased 1.8%. The Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.3%, while the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 0.5%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index surged 2.5%.
Overnight, financial and technology stocks bolstered Wall Street. The S&P 500 leaped 1.4%, while the Nasdaq Composite Index added 2%.
