For Universal Pictures’, a unit of Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Y 2015 keeps getting better.

The Jurassic World studio has broken another industry record, passing $5-B at the worldwide box office faster than any other studio has ever reached that milestone in any year.

The huge success of Jurassic World, Pitch Perfect 2, Furious 7, Fifty Shades of Grey and the recent release Minions has earned the studio $1.709-B domestically and $3.292 internationally YTD.

Jurassic World has also crossed the $600-M mark at the North American box office in only 36 days, the quickest climb to that mark ever. It has now grossed more than $1.491-B worldwide.

The studio’s latest release, the animated film Minions from Illumination Entertainment, opened last weekend to a huge $115.7-M domestically and has earned $500-M worldwide.
