The Japanese yen strengthened against most major currencies in the early European session on Monday.

The yen rose to 5-day highs of 95.63 against the Australian dollar and 88.69 against the NZ dollar, from early lows of 96.08 and 89.10, respectively.

Moving away from an early near-4-month low of 136.95 against the euro, the yen advanced to 136.10.

The yen climbed to a 4-day high of 187.42 against the pound, from an early low of 188.26.

Against the Swiss franc and the Canadian dollar, the yen edged up to 129.88 and 99.30 from early lows of 130.52 and 99.55, respectively.

If the yen extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 93.00 against the aussie, 87.00 against the kiwi, 131.00 against the euro, 181.00 against the pound, 125.00 against the franc and 96.00 against the loonie.
