Argentina’s industrial production increased for the second straight month in August, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Thursday.

Industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 1.1 percent year-over-year in June, but slower than the 0.3 percent climb in the prior month.

Production of non-metalic mineral products grew 4.7 percent in August from a year ago and automobile production advanced by 7.3 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial output edged down 0.1 percent in August, in contrast to a 0.3 percent gain in July. It was the first decrease in five months.
