The total value of construction work done in Australia climbed a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent on quarter in the second quarter of 2015, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday – coming in at A$49.811 billion.

That beat forecasts for a decline of 1.5 percent following the 2.4 percent drop in the three months prior.

The seasonally adjusted estimate of total building work done was down 2.6 percent to A$23.313 billion in the June quarter.

On a yearly basis, total construction work fell 3.3 percent.
