Donald Trump Channeling Ronald Reagan Becomes the “Voice” of the GOP

US Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) who once dubbed Donald Trump as “a Voice” of the Republican Party, hailed the GOP’s presumptive nominee Friday as  “The Voice” highlighting some “Reaganesque” elements of his campaign

“What you have here is a Reaganesque campaign,” Mr. Issa said in a TV interview “One in which he talks about making America great again for all of us, revitalizing the military, and our Hispanic population here is overwhelmingly military, including people who served in the Navy, Marines and other branches of the military.”

Mr. Issa, 62 anni, who was 1st elected to Congress in 2000, spoke before the start of a Trump Rally with veterans in San Diego. Donald Trump has been speaking throughout California since securing enough delegates to win the GOP nomination Thursday.

California is 1 of 5 states holding its primary on 7 June , the last day of the presidential primary season. The state carries 172 GOP delegates.

Drawing another likeness to Ronald Reagan, Mr. Issa said that Donald Trump’s position toward Russian President Vladimir Putin would most likely mirror Ronald Reagan’s dealings with Mikhail Gorbachev.

“President Reagan dealt with Mr. Gorbachev that was not typical,” he said. “He was not afraid to deal with him.

“He came out with real changes that were positive that made the world safer.

“The other thing that Donald Trump is doing, which is very Reaganesque, is that he’s assuring everyone that he’s going to increase our military capability,” Mr. Issa added.

“So, in fact, he will be looking at Mr. Putin in a way in which he has a real deterrent that right now we are beginning to lose.”

Friday, Donald Trump told California voters Friday that he can solve their water crisis, declaring that: “There is no drought.”

Speaking at a rally in Fresno, California., Donald Trump accused state officials of denying water to Central Valley farmers so they can send it out to sea “to protect a certain kind of 3-inch fish.”

“We are going to solve your water problem. You have a water problem that is so insane. It is so ridiculous where they are taking the fresh water and shoving it out to sea,” he said to cheers at a rally that drew thousands.

Donald Trump said that, “If I win, believe me, we’re going to start opening up the water so that you can have your farmers survive.”
