It was a holiday-thinned trading market today with Singapore, Hong Kong and China on holiday but Australia, New Zealand and Japan all open. There was plenty of news and even data flow (China PMIs out on Sunday) though, most notably, the mid-(Sunday) evening (US time) news that a deal had been reached to secure government funding through to September, thus avoiding a shutdown.
