Germany consumer confidence is set to improve in July despite concerns about Brexit, survey data from the market research group GfK showed Wednesday.

The forward-looking consumer sentiment index rose to 10.1, while it was expected to remain unchanged at 9.8.

The economic expectations indicator gained 9.7 points to reach 18 points. This represents the third increase in a row, and the highest value since June 2015.

The British referendum on leaving the EU on June 23 has not yet affected economic mood as the survey had already been completed at this point.

The indicator for income expectations moved up 7.8 points to 59.6 points, the highest level since German reunification. Consumers were very optimistic about developments in their income.

Meanwhile, the willingness to buy dropped 3.3 points to 54.4 points.
