Iceland’s consumer price inflation slowed in September after accelerating in the previous two months, figures from Statistics Iceland showed Friday.

The consumer price index climbed 1.9 percent year-over-year in September, slower than the 2.2 percent increase in August. In July, prices also had risen 1.9 percent.

Excluding housing costs, consumer prices went up 0.5 percent in September from a year ago, while it dropped 0.62 percent from the preceding month.

Prices of domestic goods and vegetables grew 0.6 percent annually in September. In contrast, prices of imported goods went down by 1.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.4 percent in September, reversing a 0.5 percent rise in the prior month. It was the first decrease in eight months.
