Lamborghini Introduces The Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder

The 2016 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder is the convertible version of the coupe that came from the marque last year.

The Huracán Spyder looks like a weapon, a jet fighter plane without wings.

The supercar has a short nose, set with deeply slanted headlamps that hold LED lights. Lights on and the car has been described as “an animal growling from the shadows.”

The skin of the Huracán consists of lightweight aluminum and composite. Most convertibles weigh more than their coupe counterparts (due to triangulating the chassis), at just under 3,400 lbs Vs. a 200 lb-lighter coupe.
The Huracán Spyder has a V10 602-horsepower engine with all-wheel drive on a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. There are 3 drive modes, plus launch control, there is no manual shift option.

Top speed here is 201 miles per hour with a 0-62 mph sprint time of 3.4 secs.

The supercar when out on the road is very good, in town it is not at its best. Vision front and rear is not great.

But, it has a cup holder that costs an additional $600 as part of a travel package, silly considering the cockpit space.

There is no extra interior space. And it is loud with the top down, though silent with the top in place.

There is a Bespoke program that new owners can avail themselves of.

This supercar dose not demonstrate the best of Italian design, engineering, technology, or performance. I do not believe it to be an important collectible supercar in the years to come… though it is a wild looking car.

The starting price is $262,350, delivery and fees bring the number to $267,545, on-par with competitors from Ferrari and Aston Martin and a bit more than the $238,500 Coupe version.
