Wall Street had a volatile day, torn between weaker US macroeconomic data and firm energy prices. Despite sliding earlier in the day, both DJIA and S&P 500 indices managed to record gains at the end of the day, adding +0.07% and +0.19% respectively. Nasdaq dropped -0.47%, however. The stock market was helped by energy and financial sectors. Yet, Apple Inc’s disappointing earnings result has damped sentiment after market closed.
