Norway’s retail sales declined at a faster-than-expected pace in December, figures from Statistics Norway showed Friday.

Retail sales volume, excluding motor vehicles dropped a seasonally adjusted 1.3 percent in December, reversing a 0.6 percent rise in the previous month. Economists had expected a 0.3 percent fall for the month.

On an annual basis, retail sales volume slid a working-day-adjusted 1.2 percent in December.

During the three months ended December, retail sales volume showed no variations compared with the corresponding period last year.
