China has room to ease monetary policy further if required, People’s Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said Sunday.

China’s inflation is declining, he said at an annual conference in Boao, on the southern Chinese island of Hainan.

“We need to be vigilant to see if the disinflation trend will continue to reach some sort of deflation or not.” Further, he said China has room to act if inflation continues to fall.
