The euro declined against other major counterparts on Thursday on continuous concerns over Greece’s debt obligations.

Concerns regarding the country’s overall financial health remains in focus, with little or no progress toward an agreement on the necessary economic reforms for its financial aid from the European Union.

Against the US dollar and the British pound, the common currency traded at $1.0691 and £0.7119, respectively. The shared currency closed at ¥128.33, C$1.3114, and 1.0384 Swiss franc.

Markets will monitor eurozone officials’ meeting in Latvia tomorrow, as they will discuss Greek debt defaults and its potential exit from the region.

They will also await PMI April reports from key European economies, as well as the UK public sector finance data and retail sales figures for March.
