A U.S. jury sided with Alphabet’s Google on Thursday in a copyright lawsuit against Oracle Corp. The jury said the law allowed the use of Oracle’s software to create Google’s Android smartphone operating system.

The jury supported Google’s claims that its use of Oracle’s Java development platform was protected under the fair-use provision of copyright law, bringing trial to a close without Oracle winning any damages.
